Don’t be worried!
If you feel overly worried about coming to the dentist then we can help you by making your appointments more comfortable and relaxing.
We can give you intravenous sedation that is the use of drugs through a needle in a vein (a drip) which makes you feel relaxed and less anxious. The drugs may actually make you sleep, but not too deeply.
IV sedation tends to be the method of choice if you don’t want to be aware of the procedure due to complete amnesia. Patients receiving IV sedation rarely experience difficulties with gagging and the treatment relaxes the muscles.
After IV Sedation, you will require someone to take you home, and you will need to rest quietly for the remainder of the day. You must avoid driving, operating any machinery which carry a risk of injury, drinking alcohol or signing important documents for 24 hours after sedation.
